Spy Shots: BYD Qin is Ready for the China car market

Spy shots showing the final production version of the BYD Qin hybrid, it will be launched on the China car market in August. Biggest news first: BYD claims a combined fuel consumption of 2 liters per 100 kilometer. Price will start around 180.000 yuan.

Mad rear lights made it to the production version.

The Qin is powered by a hybrid drivetrain consisting of a 1.5 liter turbo four cylinder petrol engine and an electric motor. Combined output is 315hp and 440nm. Top speed is 185km/h and 0-100 takes 6.9 seconds. The 1.5 turbo charged direct-injected engine poops out 165hp, the electric motor another 150. Size: 4740mm/1765mm/1490, wheelbase is 2660.

The production version of the BYD Qing debuted on the Shanghai Auto Show in April, based on the BYD Qing concept that debuted on the 2012 Beijing Auto Show. The BYD Qin is essentially is hybrid version of the new BYD Su Rui that was launched on the Chinese auto market in August 2012. The Qin however will be marketed as a different vehicle.
