Spy Shots: BYG G5 sedan is almost Ready for the Chinese auto market

The best spy shots so far of the upcoming BYD G5 sedan. The G5 is a new addition to the BYD line-up, combining the platform of the BYD Si Rui with the high tech hybrid drive train of the BYD Qing. Design is all new with a heavily chromed grille, large headlights, and a speedy crease going from the front door to the rear light.

The hybrid drivetrain consists of a 1.5 liter turbo four cylinder petrol engine and an electric motor. Combined output id  303hp and 440nm. The 1.5 turbo poops out 154hp and 240nm, the electric motor 149hp and 200nm. Gearbox is a 6-speed DCT. Size: 4700/1790/1480, wheelbase is 2670. The BYD G5 is developed for those who want a fast hybrid but think the Qin is too small or too flashy. Debut of the BYD G5 is expected for the Beijing Auto Show in April.
