Geely’s Lynk & Co officially unveiled its new small PHEV SUV, the 06 EM-P. According to brand representatives, it opens the new urban aesthetics of Lynk & Co. The 06 EM-P has a 1.5-liter ICE and two e-motors for 220 kW (299 hp) and 568 Nm on board. The starting price of this small SUV is about 180,000 yuan (24,700 USD). It will hit the market this year.
Lynk & Co is a joint project between Geely and Volvo (acquired by Geely in 2010). It was founded in 2016 in Gothenburg, Sweden, as an international brand. The Lynk & Co model line in China comprises seven vehicles (01, 02, 03, 05, 06, 08 and 09). In the overseas markets, Lynk & Co keeps it simple with one model: the Lynk & Co 01.
Lynk & Co 06 EM-P
In July 2023, Lynk & Co 06 EM-P got mass-production permission from the Chinese regulator. The new SUV is ready to hit the production line in Lynk & Co’s Meishan plant. Today, the company officially unveiled the 06 EM-P with the slogan “The Next Day, The Next One”. The exterior styling of the new SUV follows the design language of the recently launched Lynk & Co 08 fastback crossover. It has signature running light units atop the bonnet and headlights integrated into the grille. From the back, the 06 EM-P has a large taillight unit.
Dimensions of the Lynk & Co 06 EM-P are 4350/1820/1625 mm with a wheelbase of 2640 mm. It still stands on the BMA (B-segment Modular Architecture) platform that underpins the Geely Emgrand sedan and Geely Binyue (Coolray) SUV.
Inside, the Lynk & Co 06 EM-P also aligns with the 08. It has a three-spoke sporty steering wheel with a gear shifter on the steering column. Behind the wheel, we can also notice a thin LCD instrument cluster. The Lynk & Co 06 EM-P also offers a sizeable floating center screen. Other features of this small SUV are huge mirrors in sun visors, two wireless charging pads, and high-quality materials.
Under the hood, the Lynk & Co 06 EM-P has the BHE15 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol-powered engine for 120 hp. It is paired with two electric motors. As a result, the total power output of the 06 EM-P reaches 220 kW (299 hp) and 568 hp. The battery capacity of the 06 EM-P is 19.09 kWh, good for 102 km of electric range. According to the local regulator, the Lynk & Co 06 EM-P’s fuel consumption is 4.98 L/100km.
The Lynk & Co 06 will hit the Chinese market this year with a starting price of about 180,000 yuan (24,700 USD). We will keep an eye on it, so stay tuned.
