The Yuanhang Y6 large electric sedan from Dayun has rolled off the production line in China as it gets ready for the sales start. Its mass-production model will start sales at the Guangzhou Auto Show with a price range of 329,800 – 529,800 yuan (45,300 – 72,800 USD) and a range of 1,020 km. The Y6 will rival Voyah Passion (Zhuiguang) and Nio ET7. It is the first Dayun’s step into the high-end EV segment.
Dayun is a company under Shanxi Tongda Group. It manufactures scooters since 1999. In 2009, Dayun started to manufacture and sell trucks. Since 2020, Dayun has been selling passenger vehicles in a low-priced segment. Its model line comprises two EVs and a petrol-powered pickup truck. Their sales are low, with about 20,000 units sold in 2022. Last year, Dayun launched a high-end NEV brand called Yuanhang. They want to transition from a mass market to a premium segment with a single leap.
Yuanhang Y6 mass-production
The mass production of the Yuanhang Y6 sedan started at the Dayun plant, which also assembles low-priced EVs like the Yuanzhi M1 and Yuehu. Previously, Dayun got the sales license from the Chinese regulator, so it is ready for the sales launch. Previously, Yuanhang started taking orders for the Y6 with five trim levels within a price range of 329,800 – 529,800 yuan (45,300 – 72,800 USD).
Dayun’s Yuanhang Y6 stands on the BHD architecture developed jointly with Bosch and Huawei. Its dimensions are 5270/2000/1500 mm with a wheelbase of 3130 mm. For clarity, the Y6 is 169 mm longer, 13 mm wider, and 5 mm lower than the Nio ET7 sedan.
Inside, Yuanhang Y6 has five seats, a 17.38-inch screen, a 70-inch AR-HUD, and 19 speakers. This sedan is available with five powertrain options.

The Yuanhang Y6 will hit the market at the Guangzhou Auto Show. Nowadays, it is a little-known brand with cars that look close to all its direct competitors. So, Yuanhang is quite unpopular. But the Y6 has a chance to change it.
