The new 4-gen Changan CS75 Plus crossover entered the Chinese market as an ICE family driver for 121,900 yuan (17,750 USD). It has an 8-speed automatic gearbox and the MBUX-Hyperscreen-inspired screen inside.
The CS75 Plus is one of the bestselling crossovers in China. From January to August 2024, Changan sold over 130,000 units of this SUV. To keep the demand for this car high enough, the company launched the 4-gen CS75 Plus.
More on 4-gen Changan CS75 Plus
The 4-gen Changan CS75 Plus adopts the new design language with large headlights and a trapeze-ed grille painted in a body color. It also has a large air intake in the front bumper. Other features of this car’s exterior design are retractable door handles, a flat roofline, and an LED taillight strip in the back.
With the new styling, this crossover became extremely similar to Changan cars under the Uni series (Uni-K, Uni-T, Uni-Z). But it formally represents a more mature CS line, which makes little sense. The new CS75 Plus rides on R19 wheels. Its dimensions are 4770/1910/1695 mm with a wheelbase of 2800 mm.
Inside, the new Changan CS75 Plus adopts a minimalistic styling. There are no physical buttons at the center console or the center tunnel. Instead, it has a large cluster made of three screens (10.25-inch LCD instrument panel + 14.6-inch main screen + 12.3-inch front passenger screen) that reminds us of the MBUX Hyperscreen from Mercedes-Benz. The gear shifter sits behind the two-spoke steering wheel. And this design element is also similar to the Mercedes cars.
The new CS75 Plus has two wireless phone charging pads and a zero-gravity front passenger seat. It can decline far enough to help the passenger’s body take a neutral spinal posture. The front passenger seat also has an electrically adjustable leg support. Moreover, the CS75 Plus supports the L2 driving assistance system with autonomous parking and adaptive cruise control.
Powertrain and prices
As mentioned, the new Changan CS75 Plus is an ICE crossover. At the moment, it is available for purchase with a 1.5-liter engine for 141 kW (189 hp) and 310 Nm. It is paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox with a torque converter. In December this year, Changan will launch the new CS75 Plus with a 2-liter ICE on board.
The 4-gen Changan CS75 Plus is available in two trim levels within a price range of 121,900 – 129,900 yuan (17,350 – 18,500 USD). So, it is a relatively cheap family driver.
