Chery’s Jetour is set to launch the 2025 Traveller this month. It is a compact SUV that builds on its rugged design with significant upgrades. The new model enhances both on-road comfort and off-road capability.

The 2025 Traveller retains its iconic boxy silhouette but adds refined details like champagne gold accents on the tow hooks, five-spoke alloy wheels, and roof rack decorations. The front grille’s “JETOUR” logo now features a crystal-like exterior with chrome lettering.

The cabin features a deeper black-and-red colour scheme, upgraded textures, and matte chrome finishes. The front air vents have been redesigned for a more cohesive look, and the passenger-side dashboard now includes an illuminated map that syncs with the infotainment system. The infotainment system itself has been upgraded with a card-based interface, and the built-in navigation now displays music, vehicle status, and call information for added convenience.

The 2025 Traveller offers two engine options: a 1.5T producing 135 kW and 290 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, and a 2.0T delivering 187 kW and 390 Nm of torque, available with either a 7-speed dual-clutch or an 8-speed automatic transmission. The new “7+X” driving mode system replaces the previous “6+X” setup with separate mud and sand terrain modes. NVH improvements have also been made to enhance cabin comfort.

The SUV maintains its dimensions at 4785 mm in length, 2006 mm in width, and 1880 mm in height, with a 2800 mm wheelbase. Its 220 mm ground clearance, 28° approach angle, 30° departure angle, and 700 mm wading depth ensure strong off-road performance. Practical additions include illuminated wheel arch strips, a magnetic umbrella holder, and a spacious centre console with a cooler for drinks.

The Jetour Traveller has demonstrated strong market performance, with September 2024 sales hitting 15,523 units, an 189.4% year-on-year increase, and cumulative sales from January to September 2024 reaching 121,349 units. Expected to be priced similarly to the current model from 139,900 yuan (approximately 19,300 USD), the 2025 Traveller competes with models like the Haval Raptor (see specs) and BAIC BJ40. It attracts urban drivers and off-road enthusiasts by combining rugged design, advanced features, and competitive pricing.
