BYD Brazil plant in Camacari, Bahia, produced 10,000 vehicles after it officially started operations on July 1. This factory assembles three models: all-electric Dolphin Mini hatchback, plug-in hybrid King sedan & Song Pro crossover.
BYD officials previously shared that its Brazil plant officially commenced production on July 1, 2025. The first model that rolled off the production line was the Dolphin Mini hatchback, which sells under the Seagull name in China. The BYD Brazil plant has an annual production volume of 150,000 units. However, the company’s long-term goal is to increase the annual volume to 600,000 cars.
BYD Brazil production milestone
On November 25, BYD Brazil factory in Camacari reached the milestone of 10,000 produced vehicles. According to Car Blog, the automaker started a second production shift, with 120 workers on the night shift. This step increases the factory’s capacity.

With a long-term goal of reaching 600,000 cars manufactured yearly, the BYD Brazil factory is considered to be the company’s largest manufacturing complex outside China. BYD also has an overseas plant in Uzbekistan with a current annual production volume of 50,000 units and a long-term goal to increase this number to 500,000 cars. Another factory is located in Thailand with an annual production capacity of 150,000 vehicles.

BYD sold 89,380 vehicles from January to September 2025 in Brazil. This number consists of 54,256 plug-in hybrid vehicles and 35,124 all-electric cars. The brand’s model line includes twelve models: Yuan Up (Atto 2), Yuan Plus (Atto 3), Tan, Seal, Han, Dolphin, Dolphin Plus, Dolphin Mini (Seagull), Shark, King (Chaser), Song Plus, and Song Pro.
It is worth noting that BYD aims to launch the Denza B5 off-road plug-in hybrid SUV in Brazil next month. It will have an approximate price of 436,000 reais (80,980 USD). This model sells in China as Fang Cheng Bao Bao 5. The Denza Z9 GT and the D9 minivan will also enter the Brazilian market.
