Last week we showed the first official renderings of the MG CS SUV concept that will debut on the Shanghai Auto Show later this week. Some more details on the production car have emerged:

The production car will be launched on the Chinese car market in 2014. It will be based on the platform that underpins the MG5. There will be two engines: a 135hp 1.5 liter turbo and a new 2.0 turbo. Price of the cheapest 1.5 turbo will start around 145.000 yuan.

Design of the new SUV will be based on the new concept and not on the wild MG Icon concept that debuted on the 2012 Shanghai Auto Show.
