The very first Spy Shots of the upcoming Hyundai Celesta sedan. It will debut on the Beijing Auto Show in April and hit the Chinese car market soon thereafter. The Celesta will be positioned between the Verna and the Elantra, bringing the total number of sedans in Hyundai’s Chinese lineup to ten.

Size wise the Celesta sits exactly midway between the Verna and Elantra:

Verna: 4380/1728/1460, wheelbase is 2600.
Celesta: 4510/1756/1470, and wheelbase is 2650.
Elantra: 4603/1777/1490, and wheelbase is 2675.

So it firs, but there isn’t much space there, and one might wonder whether the Celesta is really necessary. There will be just one engine available; a rather old 1.6 with 120hp and 155nm. This very same engine is also available in the Verna and Elantra.

Price of the Celesta will range from about 80.000 to 110.000 yuan, it will be manufactured in China by the Beijing-Hyundai joint venture.

Rear looks clean enough but also very anonymous and bland. Integrated rear spoiler brings a bit of excitement. The new Verna has a similar spoiler.
