New spy shots from the Geely Emgrand EV8, also known as the ‘MPV-that-has-been-under-development-for-ages’, and indeed it is. The Emgrand EV8 MPV debuted back in 2009 at the Shanghai Auto Show. Since then is has been spotted testing many a times but to the market it didn’t sail. Finally, last December we heard the final production version was scheduled to debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April. The car on the spy shots however doesn’t seem finished just yet.
The Emgrand EV8 is Geely’s first full-size MPV. Maybe is was more difficult to make than they expected. Well, we might see in Beijing how it all ended up. Power comes from a 2.4 petrol with 162hp and 220nm, there will also be a diesel for export and the Chinese countryside. Big car: 4840x1830x1750, wheelbase is 2950. It can carry eight passengers. Price will start around 100.000 yuan.
