The updated Geely EX2 electric hatchback was spotted during road tests in China. This model sells domestically under the Geely Xingyuan name. It was the bestselling car in China from January to October 2025. Geely updated this BEV on October 10, 2025. However, the automaker immediately began working on the new update.

The Geely EX2 entered the Chinese market in October 2024. Its sales volume experienced a rapid growth. As a result, this electric hatchback sold 387,590 units from January to October 2025, according to China EV DataTracker. In late 2025, Geely began pushing the EX2 to overseas markets as its production capacity had stabilized. Meanwhile, the automaker started road tests of the updated EX2.

Updated Geely EX2 spy shots

Chinese media Autohome shared spy photos of the updated Geely EX2 during road tests. Its exterior looks unchanged, except for new rims with aerodynamic styling. The dimensions remained the same: 4135/1805/1570 mm with a wheelbase of 2,650 mm. The car has oval headlights and taillights, blackened pillars, flush door handles, and a closed front end.

The interior of the updated EX2 was seemingly changed. The gear shifter moved from the center tunnel to the steering column. The steering wheel has a Geely Galaxy logo instead of the “Geome” inscription. Its shape was also adjusted. Physical buttons in the center tunnel were adjusted, as well as power window buttons on the door cards. Displays remained unchanged with a 14.6-inch touchscreen and an 8.8-inch instrument cluster.

There is no information about the powertrain of the updated Geely EX2. It may remain unchanged. The entry-level EX2 adopts a 58 kW (78 hp) electric motor powered by a 30.12 LFP battery for 310 km of CLTC range. The second variant offers an 85 kW (114 hp) e-motor and a 40.16 kWh pack for 410 km of range.

The current Geely EX2 (Xingyuan) costs 68,800 – 98,800 yuan (9,710 – 13,950 USD) domestically. For comparison, the BYD Seagull (Dolphin Mini / Dolphin Surf / Atto 1) costs 69,800 – 85,800 yuan (9,850 – 12,110 USD) in China.
