The new Lincoln Continental has been launched on the Chinese car market. China is only the third country in the world to get the new Lincoln flagship after the United States and Canada, underscoring the vital importance of China for the Lincoln brand.
Sales are on the up even without the Continental. In the third quarter of this year Lincoln sold 20,988 cars in China, plus 191% compared with the same period in 2016. Lincoln is getting very close to Infiniti which sold 29,000 cars in Q3. They are catching up with Cadillac (77,028), but still very far away from Audi (440,023), BMW (371,976) and Mercedes-Benz (344,791).

A new car brand is born in China: WM Motors, headquartered in Shanghai with a factory in Suzhou. They are going to make a series of affordable mass market electric vehicles. The specifically say that they are not aiming at Tesla but at the mainstream market instead. They will make a sedan, a wagon, an SUV and an MPV.

Green Lord Motors has arrived in Hong Kong with their GLM-G4 electric supercar. Green Lord Motors, or GLM for short, is a Japanese engineering company. They were closely involved in the development of the crazy TommyKaira ZZ open sport scar, they are working with Chinese company Singulato to develop a range of electric SUVs, and now they have launched their GLM-G4.
This is new Venucia M50V MPV, it will be launched on the Chinese car market in early 2017. Venucia is a sub-brand of the Dongfeng-Nissan joint venture. Up until now all their cars were based on Nissan platforms. The M50V is the first Venucia that is based on a Dongfeng.
More trouble for Jia Yueting, the founder and CEO of LeEco, the main backer of Faraday Future (FF). Nevada State Treasurer Dan Schwartz has been very blunt about the company in an interview last week with China Daily.
In the interview, which hasn’t been picked up by international media yet, Schwartz says, among other things, that “Jia doesn’t have any money.” Chinese media are talking about a “crisis of confidence”.
This is the new in-your-face Huansu S5 SUV for China, sporting an enormous lower grille with loads of shine. The gille is flanked by two black hooks in the bumper and supported by a gray skid pad. Very impressive and just a tad too much Lexus.
Beijing Auto is going to launch two factory-specials of the polarizing BJ20 SUV, one sporty and one classy. The sporty one looks brilliant. It is painted in matte gray and dressed up with an orange air duct, an orange skid pad, orange wheel arches, and a roof rack with four orange search lights.
These are the very first photos of the production version of the seven-seat Kia KX7 SUV. The KX7 debuted last week in Guangzhou but the lone car on the booth was dressed up the max. The real thing has a bit less bling. The K7 is the new flagship SUV for Kia in China, it will hit the market in March.
