The Geely’s Zeekr brand launched in Kazakhstan, one of the biggest countries in Central Asia that has borders with China, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan. Initially, Zeekr will sell here two models: Zeekr 001 liftback and Zeekr X SUV. In 2024, two more models will hit the market: Zeekr 009 MPV and Zeekr CS1E sedan.
First, we will remind you that Zeekr is a high-end electric brand under Geely. In July 2023, it sold over 12,000 units domestically. All the Zeekr models stand on the SEA architecture. Recently, Zeekr has launched in Europe. Moreover, the mass production of the Zeekr 001 liftback for the European market has started in China. What is more, Zeekr has announced that it will launch in Israel in Q4 this year. And now, Zeekr also launched in Kazakhstan, and deliveries are about to start here.
Zeekr in Kazakhstan
The Orbis Auto has become the exclusive distributor of Zeekr in China. This company already got some experience of working with Chinese premium brands since it is the distributor of the Exeed brand under Chery. Moreover, Orbis is also a local distributor of Geely, the mother company of Zeekr. According to Orbis Auto, the Zeekr’s vehicles in Kazakhstan will have the interface in Kazakh language. Also, customers who bought Zeekr models from official dealers and distributors will enjoy warranty and technical support.
We should give you a context here. Zeekr vehicles are already popular in the Central Asia region without the official distribution. All the brand’s cars are imported here privately as used vehicles. And the Kazakhstan isn’t an exception to a rule. So, this is why Orbis Auto will provide technical support only to officially imported vehicles. Moreover, this company will also develop the charging infrastructure.
The price range for Zeekr 001 and Zeekr X in Kazakhstan is unknown. However, it will be revealed this month. As for the reservations, they will open in September. And the deliveries will officially start in November. We will remind you of some information about the Zeekr model line for Kazakhstan.
More on the Zeekr 001 and Zeekr X
The Zeekr 001 is a liftback with dimensions of 4970/1999/1560 mm and a wheelbase of 3000 mm. The entry-level 001 is equipped with a single e-motor on the rear axle for 272 hp with the 100-kWh battery for 741 km, or the 140-kWh battery for 1,032 km of CLTC range. There is also the 4WD Zeekr 001 with 544 hp. It has two battery options: the first for 86 kWh and 546 km of range and the second for 100 kWh and 656 km of range.
The Zeekr X is a compact SUV with dimensions of 4450/1836/1572 mm and a wheelbase of 2750 mm. Its RWD version is powered by the 272-hp e-motor. As for the 4WD one, it has 428 horses. As for the battery, there is a single option for 66 kWh. Depending on the drive type, the Zeekr X can drive 500-560 km of CLTC range.
