Smart New Year Special Edition launched on the China auto market

The Smart ForTwo New Year Special Edition has been launched on the China auto market, priced at 128.888 yuan. The New Year Special celebrates the upcoming Chinese new year that starts on February 10. The new year will be the Year of the Snake, succeeding the Dragon. But the Smart is not called ‘Snake Edition’ or something alike, like last year’s ‘Dragon Edition‘, because in Chinese mythology the snake isn’t exactly a good animal…

Snake, characteristics: Acute, Aware, Cunning, Proud, Vain, Vicious. About money, which is most important in China: The Snake will often dive right into decisions without weighing the consequences, which can cause her financial ruin. Oh no! The Dragon was money-wise perfect, and that is why we saw so many Dragon special-editions last year, here: Ferrari, Zotye, Aston Martin, Dartz, Optimus Prime, and Rolls-Royce. There won’t be many snakes…

Still, Smart is smart so one small dragon appears on the right-side of the vehicle, because you never know. Other special thingies: bright yellow/blue paint, nine-spoke alloys, an Alpine navigation system and a necklace made by Chinese jewelry store BaoBaoWan. Strangely Smart hasn’t shown the necklace yet. Smart will only make 666 examples of the New Year Special, so the girls must be quick. Both the 8 and the 6 are lucky numbers in China, which might be necessary when that money-eating snake comes around.
