Xiaomi SU7 was spied in China

The Xiaomi SU7 was shot in rather revealing camouflage. The testing vehicle is a top-trim modification of the SU7. We can tell it by the LiDAR sensor on the roof (not behind the windscreen) and an active spoiler in the back. It is also equipped with a Face ID sensor on the B-pillar. So, this is the Xiaomi SU7 Max trim level.

The SU7 has an aerodynamic shape, flushed door handles, and thin headlights. This sedan also has a sloped bonnet line and slanted front pillars. From the rear, the Xiaomi SU7 has a single taillight unit and broad wheel arches. The SU7 also has relatively small side-view mirrors. Another feature of the spotted vehicle is five-spoke rims with yellow brake calipers. Some people call Xiaomi SU7 “Taycan for young people” in China. It is a reasonable nickname since these two models have something in common.

Inside, the Xiaomi SU7 has a large floating screen and a thin instrument panel behind the wheel. The steering wheel of the SU7 has three spokes and a flat bottom. The steering wheel also has a drive mode switch button and a “Xiaomi” inscription. Behind the wheel, we can see a Face ID sensor and a gear selector. According to Chinese sources, the SU7 also has a Heads-Up Display (HUD).

Xiaomi SU7 specs

The Xiaomi SU7’s dimensions are 4997/1963/1440 mm with a wheelbase of 3000 mm. The SU7 is 197 mm longer, 88 mm wider, and 20 mm lower than the BYD Seal EV. SU7 rides on 19” or 20” wheels with 245/45 R19 and 245/40 R20 tire specifications. The Xiaomi SU7 has two powertrain options:

  • RWD, 220 kW (295 hp), 210km/h top speed, LFP battery from BYD, 1,980-kg curb weight
  • AWD, 495 kW (664 hp), 265km/h top speed, ternary (NMC) battery from CATL, 2,205-kg curb weight

The Xiaomi SU7 will enter the Chinese market in Q1 2024. More details on the SU7 will be unveiled in December. It will be manufactured by BAIC. The price is expected to be around 300,000 yuan (42,300 USD).
