The Leapmotor C10 SUV has hit presales in China. It is available in BEV and EREV versions, priced from 155,800 yuan (21,730 USD) and 151,800 yuan (21,170 USD), respectively. The Leapmotor C10 will rival the BYD Song Plus (Seal-U), Haval Xiaolong Max, Tesla Model Y, and Geely Galaxy L7 in China. In July-August 2024, the first batch of C10 crossovers will hit the overseas markets as Leapmotor signed the cooperation agreement with Stellantis.
Leapmotor is a Chinese new energy vehicle maker founded in 2015. Its first electric car was launched in China in 2018. Currently, Leapmotor sells three models in China: C11 and T03 SUVs and C01 sedan.
In September, Leapmotor unveiled its new car – the C10 crossover. It is the brand’s first model designed for the overseas markets. Later, Stellantis and Leapmotor signed the strategic cooperation agreement, creating a joint venture called Leapmotor International (Stellantis holds 51% and Leapmotor controls 49%). This JV will export and manufacture Leapmotor vehicles outside China. The first model to hit the international markets is the C10, which has just started presales in China.

The Leapmotor C10 stands on the new Leap 3.0 architecture. Its exterior styling reimagines the brand’s design language. Many netizens pointed out that the Leapmotor C10 stays close to the Li Auto L7 regarding exterior design. There are some similarities in their proportions and overall look. For this reason, many outlets presented the C10 as a Li Auto L7’s rival. In fact, the Leapmotor’s SUV is seemingly smaller.

Moreover, the Leapmotor C10 has only RWD variants, while Li Auto L7 is available only with 4WD. The new Leapmotor model stays closer to the BYD Song Plus (Seal-U) regarding size, equipment, powertrain, and price range.
Inside, the Leapmotor C10 has five seats and 12 speakers. Leapmotor mentioned the second row of this SUV has 1,050 mm of legroom. Its center console adopts a large floating control screen with a diameter of 14.6 inches. The instrument panel of this crossover has a diameter of 10.25 inches. Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8295 chip powers the Leapmotor OS 4.0. Its autonomous driving system features 1 LiDAR, 5 millimeter wave radars, 12 cameras, and 12 ultrasonic radars.
The powertrain of the C10 has two variants: EREV and BEV.

Leapmotor C10 presales
The Leapmotor C10 has hit presales in China, offering six trim levels. They mainly differ by the amount of autonomous driving equipment on board. However, the company didn’t provide detailed pricing information. Five exterior colors are offered: white, white gray, light blue, dark gray, and dark green. Interior has only two shades: orange and purple.
The Leapmotor C10 EREV’s price range is 151,800 – 181,800 yuan (21,170 – 25,350 USD). The C10 EV version’s price range is 155,800 – 185,800 yuan (21,730 – 25,910 USD). For comparison, the price range of the bestselling SUV in China, the BYD Song Plus, is 154,800 – 219,900 yuan (21,585 – 30,660 USD). So, it is a reasonably priced vehicle.
The C10 will hit the overseas markets in July-August this year. Within the next two years, Leapmotor plans to launch five new vehicles. They will sell in Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and the Americas. More on Leapmotor as we get it.
