Zhejiang Geely Holding Group said on Thursday that it has achieved its whole-year target for vehicle export two months early, reporting year-on-year export growth of 190 percent in the first ten months.

The parent company of Swedish luxury car brand Volvo delivered more than 81,000 vehicles outside China during that period. Its October exports set a record at 12,204 vehicles, representing 127 percent year-on-year growth.

The company, which delivered its products to more than 30 countries, expected to break the 100,000 vehicle barrier in exports this year.

  1. Good growth but the absolute numbers are still tiny compared to the global leaders. 1 million units outside China should be the benchmark for success by 2017.

  2. ???? Of course they are lower than Global leaders ????

That misses the point altogether –

Here we have a up and comer (newbie) literally bursting onto the scene, with SMOKIN’ numbers and we criticize because it did not sell as many a Ford, Toyota, or Honda.

They are making it happen in a tough competitive market when others are struggling and sneaking up on the big boys fast.

They are building manufacturing plant, producing engines and transmissions, exporting like crazy, and making a profit while dumping tons of money back into growth and global mindedness.

This one is very worth watching……
