Spy Shots: facelifted Geely Englon SC5-RV is Ready for the China var market

New spy shots of the facelifted Geely Englon SC5-RV, it will debut on the Beijing Auto Show in April and it will be launched on the China car market in May. The facelift includes a new grille, new bumpers, new fog lights, and an updated interior. The Geely Englon SC5-RV is a cheap hatchback aimed at young first-car buyers in second and third tier cities.

The current Geely Englon SC5-RV, it was not well-liked in China and sales have always been slow. Price starts at 52.300 yuan and ends at 56.300 yuan. Lone engine is a 1.5 with 94hp and 128nm, mated to a 5-speed manual.

The engine will continue in the facelifted SC5-RV but a 5-speed automatic will be added to the line-up. The automatic will greatly help sales, as many first car buyers, especially women, don’t want a manual. Due to the addition of the manual the top of the price range will go up to some 60.000 yuan.

Bumper is new but light units remain the same.

The greatest improvement is inside. This is the new dashboard with a decent design, decent materials, some funky details, and a large touch screen. Compare to the current dash:

You wouldn’t buy one for your wife!
