New Denza D9 DM-i MPV exclusive model will launch on August 5 with 98 km electric range

On July 28, Zhao Changjiang, General Manager of Denza’s sales division, announced that the new Exclusive Model of the Denza D9 DM-i will officially launch on August 5. The new model will have a pure electric cruising range of 98 km and equipped with 45 kW fast charging and 6 kW external discharge functions. Furthermore, the appearance of the new model is expected to remain unchanged as the current models. All images shown in this article are of the current D9 DM-i on the market.

Currently, the Denza D9 DM-i models on sale have a price range of 335,800 – 445,800 yuan (47,211 – 62,600 USD), offering three pure electric cruising ranges (NEDC): 50 km, 180 km, and 190 km, powered by a plug-in hybrid system composed of a 1.5T engine and a motor as well as BYD’s Blade batteries. The maximum power of the engine is 102 kW and the peak torque is 231 Nm. Two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive versions are available. Its comprehensive cruising range can reach up to 1040 km.

Similarly, the new Denza D9 DM-i Exclusive Model will be equipped with a plug-in hybrid power system consisting of a 1.5T engine and a motor, offering a 98 km pure electric cruising range. The engine outputs 102 kW and 231 Nm. The front single motor has a maximum power of 170 kW and a peak torque of 340 Nm. The estimated fuel consumption per 100 km is around 6L. It is worth mentioning that the new car is also equipped with 45 kW fast charging and 6 kW external discharge functions.

As a medium-to-large MPV, the Denza D9 DM-i measures 5250/1960/1920mm, and has a 3110mm wheelbase. Its notable design elements include a suspended roof, privacy glass for the rear windows, and an electric sliding door on each side.

Entering the cockpit, the interior has a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument panel, a 15.6-inch central control screen display, and a double-spoke flat-bottom multifunctional steering wheel. Infotainment is supported through the Denza Link 5G operating system. In addition, a large-area of the interior is wrapped in leather, which further enhance the luxuriousness of the vehicle.

The car adopts a 2+2+3 seven-seater layout and the seats come with heating and ventilation functions, and can be electronically adjusted. The standard trunk volume is 410 L, and can reach up to 2310 L with the rear seats folded down.

From January to June this year, the cumulative sales of the Denza D9 DM-i reached 52,311 units, making it the third best selling MPV in China. In June alone, 10,013 units were sold. Its direct competitors include the Buick GL8 (6,743 units were sold in June), Voyah Dreamer, and GAC Trumpchi E9.
