Kind of out that is ’cause I don’t think SAIC-GM wanted to world to see just yet. The Sail hatchback will debut at the Beijing Auto Show at the end of this month but this not too good looking silver car was seen somewhere near the factory in Shanghai.

The Sail hatchback will get the same engines as the sedan that arrived last year, that is a 1.6, a 1.4 and a 1.2. Price will be several thousand rmb below the sedan which costs 52.500 and 107.900 rmb.

The Sail sedan is not a very hot seller, this is largely because its conservative and slghtly boring design. The hatchback is, I am afraid, not much better.

SAIC-GM released some teasers of the Sail yesterday. It shows a lot of confidence to tease with a car such as the Sail. It is not a highly anticipated piece of machinery. Well, maybe some old folks did wait for it but the don’t use the web. There were two more teasers so horrible I almost don’t wanna post ‘m. But if I do, it might not help Sail-sales and that is good. Here they are:
