A very big and very beautiful Mercedes-Benz W123 Limousine, Spotted in China in the great city of Shenzhen by reader Josh F., thank you for the pictures! The Limousine was a factory-made stretched variant of the W123 sedan. Wheelbase was stretched from 2795 to to 3425mm, resulting in an overall length of 5354mm. The great Mercedes was seen on a truck. The front suspension seems to have a problem, but everything else fortunately loox fine.
The Mercedes-Benz W123 was made from 1976 until 1985 and the Limousine arrived in 1977. The Limousine was available as 240D, 300D and 250. This particular car is a 250 which was powered by a 2.5 liter six-in-line with 127hp and 192nm. The W123 was never exported to China but the Chinese government ordered a number of sedans and Limousines in the early 1980’s for official duties. Nowadays most have ended up on the private market.
nice find! but weren’t some assembled by FAW back in the day? but not sure about the stretched variant…
@schaminski.
yes some where, and they made a few stretched variants too, but they didn’t look that good quality-wise: http://www.carnewschina.com/2010/05/08/spotted-faw-mercedes-benz-200/
