The Neta EP32 electric SUV from Hozon Auto was unveiled in official spy shots in China as the company started warming up the audience. According to a trademark application, the new SUV can get the Neta L name. It will enter the Chinese market next year with a FinDreams Blade Battery on board and a price tag under 300,000 yuan (42,320 USD).
Briefly about Neta
Neta is a new energy vehicle manufacturer founded in 2018. Its model line comprises four vehicles: Neta Aya, Neta X, Neta S, and Neta GT. Neta started as a mainstream low-priced brand. But now, it is making a transition to a higher segment. Its new models stand on the new Shanhai architecture.
Moreover, Neta is rumored to become the first automaker to adopt the CATL’s skateboard platform. In 2024, Neta plans an ambitious overseas expansion covering 50 global markets. By 2025, Neta intends to launch three more models. One of them was unveiled in official spy shots.
Neta EP32 (Neta L) official spy shots
Posting images of the new car covered in thick camouflage is shared among many Chinese automakers. Those are official pictures made by professional photographers. Neta isn’t an exception to the rule. It has unveiled official images of its new flagship SUV with an internal number EP32. Previously, we have covered the real spy shots of this model.
In July 2023, Neta applied for several trademarks, including Neta X, Neta G, Neta H, and Neta L. And Neta X appeared to become the facelifted version of the Neta U-II SUV. So, we got the confirmation that these trademarks are future names of Neta’s models. Since the Neta EP32 is positioned as the brand’s flagship SUV, it will likely get the L letter in its name.
We can highlight some major details of the Neta EP32 / Neta L exterior styling in official spy shots. It has a slanted roofline, hidden door handles, traditional side-view mirrors, and a charging port in the rear right fender. It has a continuous LED taillight unit from the back that stays close to the Neta S sedan. The EP32 also has a visible rear windshield wiper.
We know from previous spy photos that Neta EP32 has large oval-shaped headlights and a sporty trapeze-shaped air intake in the front end. Inside, this crossover adopts a large twin screen with an independent monitor for the front passenger.
Neta EP32 (Neta L) specs
Neta didn’t share the specs of the EP32. But we have got detailed information about the Neta EP32’s powertrain, thanks to the leaked test blank. This crossover has a FinDreams (BYD subsidiary) LFP battery for 72.08 kWh. It powers a 170-kWh (231 hp) electric motor. The EP32 can run up to 500 km on a single charge. This SUV may have trims with bigger batteries and a more powerful e-motor.
According to previous information, the wheelbase of the Neta EP32 reaches 2.98 meters. And its width is 1.98 meters. So, it is a mid-size SUV. With a sticker price under 300,000 yuan (42,320 USD), it will rival Aito M5, Xpeng G9, Rising R7, Hyper HT, Jiyue 01, Tesla Model Y, Volvo C40, etc. So, it will have lots of competitors in the domestic market. It will start sales next year, so we will see Neta’s zest for attracting customers.
