A few days ago Xpeng teased pictures of the forthcoming P7+ car. Today thanks to a government regulator we now have more information about the new Xpeng P7+ including critical information such as the dimensions and weight.

Although this car may share the part of its name with another Xpeng model, it seems that the relationship is not strong. The Xpeng P7+ is a considerably bigger car with dimensions of 5056, 1937, and 1512 mm (l/w/h) along with a 3000 mmwheelbase. This compares to 4888,1896, and 1450 mm (l/w/h)  along with a wheelbase of 2998 mm for the current P7i (see specs). The P7+ is likely built on the SEPA 2.0 platform.

There are two different powertrain options with the lower spec versions using a 180 kW TZ230XY01F57X electric motor produced by Xpeng’s Wuhan plant. Ministry of Industry and Information Technology listing information tells us that the weight is 1967 kg and that this version is available with 18 and 20-inch wheels. Another listing gives a more powerful version equipped with a 230 kW TZ230XY01F57X electric motor, again from Xpeng’s Wuhan subsidiary. Buyers have the same choice of 18 or 20-inch wheels and this version has a curb weight Of 2073 kg. Top speed for both versions is 200 km/h.

The MIIT listing also confirms that the Xpeng P7+ does not use Lidar. Instead, the new car will use a Tesla FSD style approach largely based on a camera vision system. This is a departure for Xpeng who were the first company to mass produce a car equipped with Lidar, the P5. Subsequently, Lidar has been a key requirement for Xpeng’s flagship XNGP smart driving solution.

Currently, there is no information about the battery pack other than that the batteries are lithium iron phosphate and are sourced from Eve Power.

The Xpeng P7+ was known previously by the codename F57 and it is believed to be the same car that was originally thought to be called the Xpeng P6. We can expect a launch of this car within the next few months and sales to begin before the end of the year. The car will be produced in Xpeng’s Guangzhou Factory and is highly likely to be exported.
