The all-wheel-drive Exeed Exlantix ET SUV extended-range EV (EREV) version has begun production and will launch pre-sales at the Guangzhou Auto Show on November 15. The ET first launched earlier this year as an EV and a single-motor EREV. Equipped with the Snow Leopard 4WD system, the new car has an acceleration time of 4.8 seconds.
Exeed is an upmarket brand from Chery. Exlantix is a range from the brand dedicated to new energy vehicles (all-electric and EREV) that are purposely designed as such rather than a conversion of an ICE model. It should be noted that the Exlantix range is known as Sterra in the domestic Chinese market.
Details of the powertrain are currently on the sparse side. Along with the acceleration time for 0-100 km/h of 4.8 seconds, we know that the comprehensive range is 1500km with a WLTC fuel consumption of 5.9 l/100 km.
The single motor version (see specs) of the EREV uses a SQRH4J15B 1.5T engine as the range extender. This can provide a peak power of 115 kW, and the dual-motor version should use the same engine. The single-motor version uses a 195 kW electric motor on the rear axle, which can give up to 324 Nm of torque. In the case of the all-electric ET, the single-motor version uses the same electric motor on the rear axle as the dual motor, and so it is likely to be the same situation with the EREV.
The AWD version may also use the same 32 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack from CATL as the single motor version. This is a 1.5C battery and takes 28 minutes for a 30-80% SOC charge.
Dimensions of the car will remain unchanged at 4955, 1975, and 1698 mm (l/w/h), along with a wheelbase of 3000 mm. The ET is built on the E0X electric platform. Coming with the new car is a new color Xinghan gray and a new style of 20-inch alloys.
It’s reported that the new car will also have some interior improvements, including upgraded seats, electric sunshades, and a smart electric glovebox.
Currently, the cockpit is offered in four colors: brown, gray, black, and purple. Notable features include a floating 15.6-inch 2.5K infotainment screen, a 10.25-inch instrument panel, and a flattened steering wheel. The in-vehicle voice assistant is based on the Lion AI model.
It’s reported that the car has full-scene intelligent driving covering high-speed, urban, and parking.
Single-motor EREV versions of the ET retail for 189,800 to 249,800 yuan (26,300 – 34,600 USD), and we can expect dual-motor versions to carry a premium to these.
