The Volvo S60 sedan and XC60 SUV will be made in China. They will be the first Volvo’s to roll off the the line in the new Geely-Volvo factory in Chengdu. The Chinese government has approved the plans. All that needs to be done is actually build the factory, that might take some two years.

The current Chang’an-Volvo joint venture that makes the Volvo S40 and S80L will continue untill the contract expires in 2018. This joint venture is a left-over from the old Chang’an-Ford-Mazda-Volvo joint venture from the days Ford owned Volvo.
