A very clean Buick Regal police car, seen in the great city of Chengdu in Sichuan Province. The fourth generation Buick Regal was made in China by the Shanghai-GM joint venture from 1999 until 2009 when it was replaced by the new Opel Insigina-based Buick Regal. The 4th gen was a very popular executive car for business and government, earlier this month we met a special stretched limo based on the Regal.

Is it not a Buick Century ?
We think it is an early China-made Regal, the China-made Century had a different grille:

Ahh thank you !! So the early China-made Buick Regal was a Century with different grille, sold alongside the “real” Century ?
no. the Regal replaced the Century, which was only made for a year or so. the vehicles however were 99% similar. just the grille and the badges on the back are different. it is very hard to be sure which car it is when you only see the front. but is also seems unlikely that a ‘Century’ police car would end up all the way in Chengdu.
