WEY P8 GT

This is the WEY P8 GT PHEV, a sporty SUV-coupe version of the WEY P8 SUV. The P8 GT comes with a giant black beak with a shiny edge around, sharp looking lights, and gigantic mirrors mounted on the doors.

The WEY P8 GT is powered by a 4-wheel drive plug-in hybrid drivetrain with a 2.0 turbo, a Belt Starter Generator (BSG), and an electric motor over the rear axle. Combined output stands at 340 horses and 524 Nm. Gearbox is a 6-speed DCT. This is the same setup as on the P8 SUV.

For the latter, WEY claims a 0-100 in 6.5 seconds, a 210 km/h top speed, a 50 kilometer all-electric range, a 600 kilometer combined range, and a fuel consumption of 2.3 liters per 100 kilometers. The numbers for the P8 GT won’t be far off.

Size: 4790/1940/1672, wheelbase is 2950, and curb weight 2281 kilo.

  1. WEY is so confusing:

WEY 01: 4765/1931/1655, and wheelbase is 2950 (larger than 02).
    WEY 02: 4462/1857/1638, and wheelbase is 2680.
    WEY VV5: 4462/1857/1638, wheelbase 2680.
    WEY VV6: 4585/1860/1720, wheelbase 2680.
    WEY VV7: 4749/1931/1655, wheelbase 2950.
    WEY P8 Basic: ?
WEY P8 Plug in hybrid: ?
WEY P8 GT, Plug in hybrid: Size: 4790/1940/1672, wheelbase is 2950.

and do they produce, or intend to produce all these (very similar) models? For sure, some of these must eliminate each other? And – some of them also come as ‘basic and ‘sport’ versions also…

I give up! Thank you. 🙂

    • You are totally right. It is crazy and confusing. And you forgot to mention the Haval versions of the WEY VV5 and WEY VV7. These look almost the same, same size, use the same engines, and cost only a little bit less than the WEY versions. Makes sense, right?! ):

  2. Haha… Yes, I wonder where they have their Marketing education from. I’m sure China has better education to offer.

Must still say I love the design of the VV7 Basic (c?) and S. If it had the hybrid-power unit from P8, I might chose it instead of the new Volvo XC60 Hybrid (T8). 🙂

BTW., congratulation on your new website layout. It’s great. Thank you.
