The exterior adopts the design named “digital super body”. It splits headlight design on both sides, and together with the harsh lines at the grille. In the foglight area, the new car is equipped with deflector slots, which can help the brake system cool down.

The side of the new EV features rectangular wheel rims. In addition, the body is angular and curved, while the lower edge of the window is also curved. The electric SUV is equipped with low wind resistance styled wheels, but the door handles are not hidden.

The rear part of the car uses penetrating taillights, and is somewhat similar to the previous design style of the company’s crossover, eQ5. The design of the rear bumper is echoeing with the front end of the car.

The vehicle’s dimensions are 4675/1910/1660 mm with a wheelbase of 2,830 mm. The eQ7 is 24 mm shorter, 38 mm wider and 25 mm lower than the Skoda Kodiaq. The aluminum body frame reduces the weight of the car by 30%. The powertrain has a single 211 hp electric motor. It is powered by a 67-kWh LFP battery pack for 512 km.

The eQ7 recently started pre-sales. It is offered in three trims. The first trim level costs 143,900 (20,000 USD). The second one is sold for 153,900 yuan (21,400 USD). And the top-trim level is available for booking at 163,900 yuan (22,790 USD).

The eQ7 will become the replacement for the current eQ5 since they have similar dimensions, powertrain, etc. The main reason for it is the low sales volume of the Chery eQ5. Most of the Chinese buyers consider the eQ5 to be ugly. Chery stopped the manufacturing of the eQ5 in 2022. In 2023, it sold only 56 units. However, the car maker needs to quickly replace it since the electric SUV segment is currently hot in China as the competition is engaged in the price war.
