Chery iCar V23 electric SUV will enter market on December 16

On December 9, Chery’s iCar brand officially announced that its iCar V23 electric off-road SUV will enter the market on December 16 as the brand’s second mass-produced vehicle. Delivery is expected to immediately follow in December. The car was previously opened for pre-sale at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November, with a price range of 110,000 – 150,000 yuan (15,100 – 20,600 USD), available in two trims.

The overall design of the iCar V23 adopts a hard-core off-road style. The smoked front grille is inlaid with the iCar logo, coupled with round headlights. From the side, the iCAR V23 maintains the popular square box shape. A roof luggage rack, hidden door handles, and a rear external storage container typical of an off-road vehicle are also present.

Advanced driving assistance capabilities are another highlight of the iCar V23, which are powered by Horizon Robotics J3 chip and a Texas Instruments TDA4 chip as well as realized via an 8-megapixel front-view camera, a 3-megapixel surround-view camera, five millimeter-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic radars, supporting functions such as high-speed navigation, emergency lane keeping, traffic jam assistance, automatic parking, remote parking, and memory parking.

The iCar V23 has a length, width, and height of 4220/1915/1845 mm and a wheelbase of 2735 mm. The departure angle is 40° or 41°, the approach angle is 42° or 43°, and the minimum ground clearance is 200 mm or 210 mm depending on the trim. Consumers can choose from six exterior paints: orange, black, gray, green, silver, and white.

The cockpit adopts white and black color matching, with a large number of straight lines, round knobs, and square air-conditioning outlets. The 15.4-inch 2.5K central control screen is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip and supports CarPlay.

The interior has a 2×2 layout and the rear seats can be folded down to form a 744 L flat space. Additionally, the front seats are electrically adjustable. There are also seven speakers for the audio system.

Both RWD and AWD are offered. The RWD is powered by a 100 kW (134 hp)/180 Nm electric motor while the AWD has an additional 55 kW (74 hp)/112 Nm front electric motor. The fastest 0 – 100 km/h acceleration time is 7.5 seconds. Furthermore, the RWD is equipped with a 59.93 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack with a 401 km CLTC range while the AWD is equipped with a 81.76 kWh ternary lithium battery pack with a 501 km CLTC range. Under fast charging, it takes 30 minutes to replenish the battery from 30% to 80%. A 3.3kW external discharge function is also available.
