Soon this year, Tesla will begin the deployment of V4 Supercharger Cabinets in China, the company announced through its social media today.

The V4 Supercharges set to roll out in 2025 will be open to other brands in China. When powered by a V4 Cabinet, it can provide fast charging up to 500 kW.

“This move will enhance charging efficiency and experience,” Tesla China says.

The V4 Supercharger Cabinet is the latest and most powerful Tesla charging device. It supports 400V – 1000V architectures and is easier and faster to deploy, according to the US automaker.

Tesla China also shared that it currently operates 60,000 Supercharges globally, of which 20% (11,500) are in China as of November 2024.

Tesla celebrated its 10,000th Supercharger in China in December 2022, and in April 2023, the company opened its Supercharger network to other EV brands in China.

Tesla has a dedicated 5000 square meters Supercharger factory in Shanghai, which was completed in 2021 and has a capacity of 10,000 V3 Supercharges annually.
