The brilliant Dalian Classic Car Museum has been closed. The private owner is in prison for killing his brother and won’t get out anymore.
The collection has been removed from the museum’s buildings and the cars are being sold off. Some are ending up in other museums and some with other collectors.
It seems very unlikely the collection will ever come together again. Time thus for a look-back at how things once were when all was good and happy. Today we start with the Hongqi limousines, the museum had six of them. On the left and right a Hongqi CA630 minibus.

This is a brilliant Hongqi CA773, seen in the Sanhe Classic Car Museum where it was parked next to the Hongqi CA72 we saw earlier. The Hongqi (Red Flag) CA773 was made from 1969 until 1976, in seven years 291 cars were produced and for Hongqi that is mass production.

A very beautifull and unrestored example of the Hongqi, Red Flag, CA773. Only 291 cars were made from 1969 to 1976 in the FAW factories in Changchun. The CA773 is a 40 centimeter shorter version of the mighty CA770 and was meant to push up sales but according to the number made that didn’t really happen.
