It is December 5 1991, the first FAW-Volkswagen Jetta MK2 runs off the assembly line in the great city of Changchun in north-east Jilin province. ‘000001’ is the number and indeed earlier this year the good old Jetta reached the 2-million milestone.

It is still in production today in basically the same shape but the first big facelift is expected in 2013. May the Jetta live on forever!
