Here we have a very black Nissan Cedric Y31 Brougham VIP, seen on a second hand car market in south-east Beijing. The huge seventh generation Y31 is the successor of the sixth generation Y30 (V-30) of which we saw a perfect white example earlier this month. Production of the Cedric Y31 started in 1987 and continues until today, now called YPY31 and mostly sold to taxi companies in various countries in Asia. One brilliant Plymouth Prowler seen by reader Josh F. in the garage of a Brilliance dealer in the great city of Shenzhen in Guangdong Province, thank you for the pics! The Prowler was never officially exported to China but we heard around a handful made it to the Chinese car market in the early 2000’s, much to the surprise of local law enforcement.
The Toyota Reiz is a sporty RWD sedan that sadly doesn’t sell very well in China, no matter how much some owners love it with all their heart. Toyota decided to make a bold move at the very local ‘Central China International Auto Show’ in the great city of Wuhan in Hubei Province. The Japanese hired the hottest Wuhan girl they could find, dressed her almost naked and sat her on a very exciting brownish Reiz.
The facelifted Honda Odyssey MPV has been launched on the China auto market, price starts at 229.800 yuan and ends at 279.800 yuan. The facelift includes a new grill, new bumpers, new front and tail lights, and an updated interior.
BYD is working on a small facelift for the L3 sedan. When it arrives early next year it will also get a new 1.2 turbo engine, named ‘1.2 TI’. The current BYD L3 debuted in August 2010 and is only available with a naturally aspirated 1.5. The 1.2 TI will replace this engine and BYD will later on ad a 1.5 turbo to the line-up.
The best spy shot so far of the interior of the upcoming Chery E3, a new small-sized sedan that will also be sold as the Chery Cowin 3. Both cars will be basically the same but the Cowin will be slightly less luxurious and slightly less expensive. Both cars will be powered by the same 1.5 liter four-cylinder with 109hp and 140nm, mated to a 5-speed manual. Price will start around 60.000 yuan. Via: Autohome.
The Buick Regal 1.6 Turbo will soon be available with an automatic transmission. The 180hp 1.6 Turbo is currently only available with a 6-speed manual which seriously slows down sales because Chinese car buyers don’t dig manuals. The Buick Regal (Opel Insignia) is made in China by the Shanghai-GM joint venture. Via: Autohome.
Here we have a very trendy Beijing-Jeep Cherokee in red, seen on a sunny day on a car market in south-west Beijing. The Cherokee is further sexed up by huge chromed mirrors, higher suspension, large tires and big shiny alloys. All together a great Cherokee package and one of my best finds of the day.
A very fast Ferrari 612 Scaglietti seen a second hand car dealer in Beijing. The good Ferrari was wrapped in a very happy metallic-shiny-red color, almost cherry-red, that blinded all who came to close, like me, I couldn’t see a thing for the next 30 minutes. But I got the pics!
Seen in heavy traffic, shot through the window of my Beijing-Jeep Cherokee, this very cool oh cool Audi A4L in orange & black. We might see a new trend here, earlier on we met a Chevrolet M Cruze and a BMW5Li in the same color combination. The Audi A4L is made in China by the FAW-Volkswagen joint venture, a popular car for customizing, our collection is small but growing fast: pink, matte-purple and polizei.
