A beautiful big and black Mercedes-Benz S500, seen on a sunny day in the capital Beijing. The W140 was made from 1991 until 1998, it was the first S-class Mercedes-Benz officially sold in China. The S500 was powered by a big 5.0 V8 with 330hp.
This particular car was in near perfect condition, paint was smooth, original alloys, and the chrome was shining. Interior a bit less perfect, leather needs a good cleanup but the dash seemed all right. But wait a minute!! What is that thing over the gear lever?!
The horror! A fake Louis Vuitton some-kinda-cover! Waddahell was the owner thinking here? Note tape deck.
After all those years still a very stylish car. The W140 was a rather popular executive car in China, much more so than the 7-series, and that hasn’t changed until today. We met a few other W140’s on da streets; S600, perfect S600, white S500, and a mad Wald S600.
