What we knew: The Corsa B was manufactured in Germany from 1993 until 2000. From 2001 until 2005 the Corsa sedan and wagon were made in China by Shanghai-GM under the Buick Sail name, and after 2005 under the Chevrolet Sail name.
What is new: the Corsa hatchback was made in China as well. Under the Opel Corsa name. Production started all the way back in 1993 and lasted until about 1996.

A light gold Opel Omega 2.0 GL sedan, Spotted in China close to the eastern section of the Third Ring Road in Beijing. The Omega was in reasonable shape but in urgent need of a good clean-up. The paint was fading a bit and some panel gaps were a tad too wide. Rust however was nowhere to be seen and all parts appeared to be in place.

A wondrous white Opel Vectra B sedan, Spotted in China in a faraway suburb in east Beijing. The Vectra B was most famous for its mirror-integrated-in-bonnet design, and that indeed still loox very impressive today! This particular B is a top-spec CD variant, further spiced up with darkened windows, a subtle body kit, and AMG alloys. Check:

A very green Opel Astra F sedan, Spotted in China close to the eastern section of the Third Ring Road in Beijing. The good Astra was in a good shape; clean paintwork, no rust, no bruises, and no missing parts. The Astra F was manufactured from 1991 until 1998, it was never officially exported to China so how this Opel ended up in the capital is something of a mystery.

The Opel Adam will be rebadged as Buick for the China car market, launch is expected for 2015. General Motors wants the Adam in China to compete with the successful Fiat 500. The ‘Buick Adam’ will be imported into China but local production is very well possible further in the future. Price is yet unknown but the Fiat 500 does 169.800 yuan to 268.800 yuan, so price of the Adam will likely sit in the same range. Engines: 1.2 petrol with 69hp and 1.4 petrol with 100hp.
The Buick Adam will be the first high-end city car for GM in China. So far GM has focused entirely on cheap city cars. However, recent success of Fiat and Smart has shown there is a large market for hip and high-quality city cars that are bought by hip and reasonably-rich city folk who want to show off their wealth and hipness but don’t want a large car, and definitely no sedan like their parents have.

A wine red Opel Omega GL, Spotted in China close to the Chaoyang Park in central Beijing. The vehicle didn’t look very good but was clearly still driven, and that is better than good. The Opel Omega was never officially exported to China but strangely there are quite a few around. This particular car was fitted with period-optional racy tires and alloys. The tires looked very old and were in urgent need of replacement.
