New Neta S electric sedan has 1,075 km cruising range with CATL’s Qilin battery

Recently, the new Neta S electric sedan specification was exposed by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). The new car will be equipped with CATL’s latest Qilin battery, giving it an NEDC cruising range of 1,075 km.

The Neta S will be powered by a single front motor with a maximum power of 200 kW and battery packs with a total capacity of 117.04 kWh, weighing 588 kg.

The S sedan first hit the Chinese market in June 2022 in multiple variants, including a fully electric EV and a range-extender EREV. The Neta S EV offers three cruising range options: 520 km, 650 km, and 715 km. The max range of the range extender is 1160 km. Currently, there are 10 variants on sale, with a price range of 189,800 – 341,800 yuan (26,600 – 47,900 USD).

In terms of appearance, the shape of the front face is derived from the Latin letter π, according to the carmaker. Visually, its center of gravity feels low. The sharp daytime running lights on both sides are highly recognizable.

The size of the new Neta S is 4980/1980/1450mm, with a 2980mm wheelbase. Its coefficient of drag is as low as 0.216Cd. Additionally, the car has a panoramic sunroof. Neta claims that the sunroof can block 85% of heat and 99.9% of ultraviolet rays.

Coming to the interior, the overall design is simple. The driver has access to an AR-HUD. The size of the large central control vertical screen is 17.6 inches, with a 2.5k resolution. The co-pilot gets a 12.3-inch entertainment screen. The computing platform will be supported by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip.

Furthermore, the sound system will be comprised of 21 speakers outputting 1216 W, including 12 main speakers, 1 subwoofer, 4 ceiling speakers, and 4 headrest speakers.
