New Spy Shots of the Weichai Auto Yingzhi P80 pickup truck for China, looking impressive with a heavy grille, big bumpers, massive mirrors, and a fake air vent on the bonnet. The Yingzhi P80 will debut next month on the Beijing Auto Show and launch on the Chinese car market in the third quarter.
Fake air vents in the fenders too.
The Yingzhi P80 is a mid-size pickup truck set to compete on the high end of the hyper competitive Chinese pickup truck market. Price will start around 100.000 yuan and end around 130.000. Power will come from a 2.4 liter petrol, a 2.5 liter turbo diesel, or a 2.8 liter turbo diesel, all mated to a five-speed manual sending horses to the rear wheels.
Size: 5600/1950/1880, and wheelbase is 3220.
The P80 looks sporty thanks to the extended D-pillar that morphs into the top of the rear fenders. The rear itself is very clean with large red lights and the Weichai name in chrome. Wheels would look better if they were a few sizes bigger.
Nice design here with the Weichai name seemingly on the grille while actually being on the bonnet.
Weichai Auto is a brand new car brand owned by Weichai Power (web), one of the largest Chinese engine makers and sponsor of the Ferrari F1 team. The company is based in Weifang, Shandong Province. Yingzhi is the brand name, called Enranger in English.
Best looking Chinese pick-up ever (not too hard a category to win mind…)
I wonder then, what would you classify gwm under then? GWM Wingle 6, Gonow and maybe Foton are pretty okay-looking in my book.
GW Wingle; cheap Hilux
Karry Higgo; ugly
CHTC; have you ever seen one?
Dongfeng Rich; old fashioned
Foton Tunland; next best after the P80
Gonow GP150; 3rd best
Higer; ugly
Huanghai; ugly
Kawei; F-Series rip-off, never seen one on the road
Zhongxing Auto; old-fashioned
Do it have a 4X4 capabilities for offroading?
Rear end looks a lot like it’s Mk I Ridgeline inspired
Also looks like a Unibody with faux seperation line for cab & bed like Ridgeline Mk II …
