The Voyah Passion (Zhuiguang) PHEV is a full-size sedan with a 1,260-km mixed range, 4WD for 530 hp, and a starting price of 252,800 yuan (35,380 USD). It has an air suspension, an active damping CDC system, and an all-electric range of 262 km (CLTC). Next year, Voyah will launch the luxurious trim level of the Passion PHEV for 358,800 yuan (50,210 USD).
Voyah is a high-end NEV (new energy vehicle) brand under Dongfeng. Its current model line comprises three models: Voyah Free SUV, Voyah Dream MPV, and Voyah Passion sedan. Today, its latest model got the PHEV version.
The Voyah Passion PHEV sedan stays in line with its all-electric version launched earlier this year. Its distinguishing exterior features are a huge radiator grille with a sporty front bumper. The Passion’s dimensions are 5088/1970/1515 mm, and a wheelbase of 3000 mm. It is bigger than Audi A6, BMW 5 Series, and Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
The Voyah Passion PHEV’s interior is similar to the EV version. It has a 1.4-meter-long cluster of three screens. Each of them has a diameter of 12.3 inches. There is one more 9-inch screen dedicated to climate control and seat settings. An additional screen for the second-row passengers and an AR-HUD are available as extras. Other fine features of the Passion PHEV’s interior are a two-section sunroof, second-row right passenger’s leg rest, and a wireless charging pad.
The Voyah Passion PHEV has an impressive powertrain. It comprises a 1.5-liter gasoline engine for 100 kW (136 hp) and two electric motors for 130 kW (177 hp) and 160 kW (218 hp). Its combined power output reaches 390 kW (530 hp). The peak torque of this powertrain is 810 Nm. However, Passion PHEV isn’t exceptionally fast. Its zero-to-hundred acceleration time is 5.9 seconds. The top speed is 200 km/h.
The main benefit of the Voyah Passion PHEV powertrain is its range and fuel consumption. This sedan has a 43-kWh ternary (NMC) battery pack for 262 km of electric range (CLTC). Thanks to a 51-liter fuel tank, the Voyah Passion PHEV can run up to 1,260 km in a hybrid mode (CLTC). With a discharged battery, its fuel consumption is just 5.4 L/100km. Voyah says the Passion PHEV can drive from Beijing to Wuhan (1,155 km) without stopping. It is slightly more than the distance from Berlin to Paris.
The Voyah Passion PHEV also has an air suspension and active damping CDC system. It also supports high-speed active navigation, a self-parking system, and 34 more self-driving functions.
The Voyah Passion PHEV currently has two trim levels. The entry-level model doesn’t have an air suspension. Otherwise, it is similar to the second trim level. Its sticker price is 252,800 yuan (35,820 USD). To get that air suspension, you should upgrade to the second trim level, which costs 277,800 yuan (38,880 USD). In the future, the Voyah Passion PHEV will also get the top-trim level version called CEO Concierge. It will cost 358,800 yuan (50,210 USD).
Meanwhile, the Voyah Passion EV already sells overseas. Its plug-in hybrid version can also enter the global market next year. We will keep an eye on it.
