A very rare and very abandoned China-made MG TF Roadster, Spotted in China on a out-of-the-way parking lot in Beijing. The poor MG was in a sorry shape; covered in layers upon layers of dust, sitting through the front suspension, hit by a zillion leaves, without license plates & insurance stickers, and so clearly left to die alone.
That night I was invited by reader Peng S. to meet his vintage Mercedes-Benz and his maniac friends riding more vintage Mercedes-Benz. Sure I said yes and was soon on my way to a faraway restaurant in a faraway area of south east Beijing where there was Benz, booze, and a lamb:
A monsterious Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale, Spotted in China in the great city of Shanghai by reader & serial spotter Navigator 84, thank you for the pictures! The Lamborghini was seen on the parking lot of the Shanghai Formula 1 circuit, accompanied by a Ferrari 458 Italia and a BMW M3. Good spotting…
A very rare and very red fourth generation Toyota Crown, Spotted in China at a Toyota dealer in east Beijing. The colossal Crown was just a bit too big for the front porch so they smartly added a small stage to the stairs. The good Toyota was in very good condition, dusty for sure, this Beijing, but otherwise ready to roll. Staff told me it was still running, and they even drive it on special occasions, like local auto shows and club meetings.
Three giant Audi A8L limousines, Spotted in China on different locations in Beijing. The license plates read A8909, A89716, and A81750, and those are by fat the best license plates we have seen on Audi A8L’s in China, they are indeed so good that we can’t decide which one wins. Top A8L with 7-spoke alloys, center got five, and bottom comes in with ten.
A very posh Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet, Spotted in China in an underground parking lot in the Sanlitun area in Beijing. The license plate reads TA911 and that is by far the best license plate on a Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet we have seen in China so far. In Chinese ‘ta’ means he or she, depending on tone, making for a meaning like ‘He 911’.
A very mad Infiniti FX45, Spotted in China at the Solana shopping mall in Beijing. The fine vehicle was wrapped in a matte white & black wrap, and further sexed up by a hefty body kit, a double wing on the back, tattoos on the C-pillar, tinted windows, tinted rear lights, white 6-spoke alloys, and a matte black roof rack.
the festivities for Chinese New Year will start tomorrow with the mighty golden Horse arriving in China on Friday 31-01. The Horse is good for Money, Travel, and Love, and sure we all need more of all that… We will be very busy getting very fat and very drunk for the next few days, we will come riding back on Saturday.
If you are in China, enjoy the party. If you are elsewhere, enjoy the party from afar. For now, we wish you a Happy Year of the Horse.
A very sleek Jaguar F-Type 3.0 S, Spotted in China in the great city of Chongqing by Reader Colin, thank you for the pictures! Note EE in license plate, a fine tribute to the E-Type. The Jaguar F-Type was launched on the China car market in November last year and, amazingly, this is only the very first example we see in the wild, indicating sales are moving slow.
A very sad Maserati Quattroporte, Spotted in China by ‘WagonFan‘ near Phoenix Town, just outside the eastern section of the Third Ring Road in Beijing. The poor vehicle looks completely abandoned, covered with a thick layer of dirt and all tires are deflated. China doesn’t seem to like classic Maserati’s very much, in December last year we saw an abandoned Maserati 4200GT Spyder in Yulin.
