Las week we saw the new Volkswagen Lavida Plus sedan, so now it is time for the Gran Lavida Plus, the station wagon version. It will have its public debut later this month on the 2018 Beijing Auto Show.
This is the new Volkswagen Lavida Plus. Is it the successor of the best selling Lavida? Yes, and no. In typical Chinese fashion the current Lavida will continue, it will be sold alongside the Lavida Plus. After some time, likely two years, the old Lavida will finally retire. And by that time the Lavida Plus will be the only Lavida around.
New photos of the upcoming new Volkswagen Lavida sedan. It will debut next month on the Beijing Auto Show and launch on the Chinese car market soon thereafter. It certainly looks far more modern than its predecessor, but it also looks bland and boring.
New Volkswagen Lavida is based on MQB platform
This is the all-new Volkswagen Lavida for China, and it has become a modern looking sedan that one could call trendy. The Lavida has been one of China’s best-selling sedans for many years, but lately sales have been slowing down a bit. The good Lavida is getting old, the current second-generation was launched all the way back in 2012! Time thus for the all-new Lavida.
Volkswagen has released the first images of the ‘New Lavida’, which is marketing speak for a facelift for the immensely successful China-only Volkswagen Lavida series. The new facelifted Lavida will be launched on the Chinese car market late this month. The facelift includes a new grille, new headlights, new taillights, and new bumpers.
The Volkswagen Lavida is already the best-selling car in China, but Volkswagen still wants much more, and launched four new variants of the Volkswagen Lavida in one haul. The variants are the Volkswagen Lavida Sport, the Volkswagen Gran Lavida Sport, the Volkswagen Lavida Blue Motion and the Volkswagen Cross Lavida.
The Lavida Sport is a sporty variant of the the Volkswagen Lavida sedan. It comes with sporty bumpers, sporty alloys, sporty seats, and a miniscule wing at the back. Engines are unchanged: 130hp 1.4 turbo and a 104hp 1.6. Price for the Lavida Sport starts at 151.900 yuan and ends at 165.900 yuan.
This is the new Volkswagen Cross Lavida, it will be launched in the China car market on November 5, price will start around 135.000 yuan. The Cross Lavida is a cross-themed variant of the Volkswagen Gran Lavida that was launched on the Chinese auto market in June. And the Lavida party isn’t over yet, as Volkswagen is working on a Gran Lavida Sport that will debut on the Guangzhou Auto Show in late November.
The very first spy shots showing the new Volkswagen Gran Lavida Sport naked in China. The Gran Lavida Sport is a sporty variant of the Gran Lavida wagon which is based on the China-only Volkswagen Lavida sedan. The Sport comes with racy bumpers, racy alloys, a racy grille, and racy Gran Lavida Sport stickers.

The Cross Lavida is a cross-themed variant of the Volkswagen Gran Lavida that was launched on the Chinese car market in late June. Price will start around 150.000 yuan.
