Last week we published an article about a mysterious Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, spotted by Reader Antoine Chalendard in Shanghai on August 10. The vehicle is mysterious because it looks similar to the one-off Bugatti Grand Sport L’Or Blanc, but it isn’t a known Bugatti special-edition. So what was, and is, this interesting Veyron? [Update: it is a Bugatti Veyron L’Or Style Vitesse.]
The great American website Jalopnik.com picked up on the story, saying the Veyron is ‘gathering dust’ in a garage. That is not entirely true, as our latest set of pictures clearly shows, showing the Veyron cruising on and around the Bund in Shanghai. The photos were taken on August 11. There was more good in the comments:
The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse Black Bess debuted on the 2014 Beijing Auto Show. The Black Bess is the fifth car in the Bugatti Veyron Legend Series, named after the famous 1912 Bugatti Type 18 ‘Black Bess’ race car. Bugatti will make three units of the Black Bess, and around-around we heard one has been sold to a wealthy Chinese supercar collector for 28 million yuan or 4.4 million USD.
A very speedy Bugatti Veyron super car, Spotted in China at the D-Club in the great city of Shenzhen by spotter ‘Shenzhen Xingzhan‘. The good Veyron is well protected by two red white traffic cones, and rightly so, when new the base Bugatti Veyron was priced at a mad 24.5 million yuan or 3.88 million USD.
A black Bugatti Veyron seen on the back of a truck on a highway near the great city of Guangzhou in Guangdong Province. The Veyron is an extremely popular vehicle among China’s rich and good-as-new examples keep coming in via dealers in the US. Back in April we found another black Veyron in Shanghai, straight from Beverly Hills. When new the Veyron was priced at 24.5 millon yuan or 3.88 million USD in China, good second handers from America go for 20 million these days.
For quick weddings only. Here we have a white Bugatti Veyron wedding car, seen late at night in front of an expensive hotel in the great city of Shanghai. The wedding being over, the newly weds upstairs in their room having tea, and the mighty Buug guarding the premises, guarded by three traffic cones and some men in black.
A fantastic black-over-yellow Bugatti Veyron, seen in central Beijing by reader Ali Khalili, thank you for the pictures! The mighty Bug was spotted when it was loaded into a container in front Volkswagen’s China headquarters. The Veyron had been on show in the attached showroom for a while, in the same place where I earlier on met a Veyron Blue Centenaire and a Lamborghini Murcielago LP650-4 Roadster.
