The Geely Galaxy E8 is a big all electric sedan that will hit the Chinese market in Q4 this year. It is based on the controversial Galaxy Light concept car. Nowadays, spy shots of the Galaxy E8’s interior have leaked online, revealing a huge 1-meter screen inside. Let’s get to them.
Before we crack on with the interior of the E8, we will remind you that Galaxy is an NEV series under Geely. In fact, is has already become a stand-alone brand with its own logo and design language. By 2025, the Galaxy line will comprise seven vehicles, comprising both PHEVs and BEVs. The first Galaxy model, the L7 PHEV SUV, has already entered the Chinese market. The second one is the Galaxy L6 PHEV sedan that has started presales at the Chengdu Auto Show. As for the third model, it is an all electric E8 sedan. It has already got the production permission from the Chinese Government. And now, its interior was exposed, revealing some interesting stuff.
Geely Galaxy E8 interior
As we can see in interior spy shots, the Galaxy E8 follows the styling direction of the Galaxy Light concept car. However, it differs from the concept car in many details. For an example, it has a regular steering wheel instead of the steering yoke. We can also highlight that the steering of the E8 is standard for every Galaxy series model. It has two spokes and a flat bottom. Behind the wheel, we can see a gear lever. This element is also common for modern Geely vehicles.
The center tunnel of the Galaxy E8 looks unfinished. It isn’t a surprise since it is a test car, not a production version. And still. It has two wireless charging pads and a roomy compartment. But of course, the main feature of the Galaxy E8 is the center console. Speaking more precisely, it is the huge screen that is mounted on the center console. According to previous information, it isn’t a block of several screens under a single glass, but a solid screen. Its dimensions are 1130/138 mm. So, it has a length of over 1 meter. And the diameter of this monitor reaches 1138 mm or 45 inches. The Snapdragon 8295 chip from Qualcomm powers this screen.
More on the Galaxy E8

It stands on the SEA architecture and has a single electric motor on the rear axle for 272 hp. It will adopt an LFP battery from Quzhou Jidian New Energy, a battery maker under Geely. Its price tag will probably start from 200,000 yuan (27,360 USD).
