The Lynk & Co 02 has been unveiled in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Why Amsterdam? Because Lynk & Co wants to be cool, and Amsterdam is coolest city on earth. I know, I used to live there. So is the Lynk & Co 02 cool enough for the Dutch capital? Of course it isn’t, but it is a nice try.
This is the new Lynk & Co 03 sedan. A blue example was seen in a Geely development facility. It looks pretty much the same as the car we saw earlier, but with a chromed B-pillar, a spoiler-like extension under the doors, and different wheels.
The Lynk & Co 01 SUV has finally been launched on the Chinese car market. Price starts at 158.800 and ends at 202.800 yuan ($24.035 – 30.640). On top of that comes a Limited Edition launch edition for 220.800 yuan. The spicy red car on the photos is the top-spec ‘Pro’.
But can you really get a 01? Well… No.
Time to go to Lynk & Co! I visited a brand new dealer in east Beijing, just a few kilometers from my home. Lynk & Co has been screaming how different they are and how different they were going to do things. Well, did they..? Time to find out:
Geely is now the largest shareholder of Lotus and the Chinese know what the world wants: an SUV. So they are going to build one. The drawings leaked from China’s notoriously leaky patent office, showing a sporty crossover SUV coupe with a racy air duct on the roof.

Yesterday we saw the launch of the new Polestar 1, a concept previewing a new hybrid coupe of Volvo’s new electric performance brand (yes I know…), and today we have more about the underlying technology. Let’s start with the powertrain:
Volvo has launched a new brand. It is called Polestar and it will build sporty high-end electric cars. Their first car will be the Polestar 1, the production version of the 2013 Volvo Concept Coupe. Production will start in 2019 in a new factory in Chengdu, China. Next up is the Polestar 2 which will be aimed at the Tesla Model 3, and then it is time for the Polestar 3 which will do battle with the Tesla Model X.
The Polestar 1 is a brilliant looking car with an empty grille and beautiful wheels. So far so good. There is however a big question:
The first batch of Volvo S90L sedans is on its way to the United States. Four hundred cars were loaded into a ship in the port city of Tianjin, they will arrive at Volvo dealers in the United States in June. The China-made Volvo S90L will replace the Sweden-made Volvo S90 in the U.S., where it will be marketed as the 2018 Volvo S90, without an L at the end.
Earlier this year we reported about the T-King Oujia, a new LSEV from China with a Volvo grille. On the fantastic 2017 Jinan EV Show we saw it in the flesh for the first time, looking very speedy in red. It didn’t disappoint; lights and grille looked very neat, a few Volvo badges is all it really need.
