Are we stretching mid-size SUVs now? Yes we are. This is the new Audi Q5L, a long-wheelbase version of the Audi Q5 SUV. It will be launched on the Chinese car market in the first quarter of 2018.
The new Audi e-tron Sportback Concept has been launched on the Shanghai Auto Show in China, and it looks great; painted in matte gray with a strong aggressive stance, wide shoulders, big wheels, and massive grille. The e-tron Sportback previews a sporty electric SUV coupe that will hit the market in 2019.
A perfectly fine Audi A6 Allroad Quattro, Spotted in China in Dongba in the far east of Beijing. The good ‘Di is in perfect shape and painted in fiery red. That is a great color for this great wagon, and rare too, most Allroads were painted in silver or in darker schemes. The vehicle was completely original down until the alloys and up until the roof rails.
Today in China Car History and Spotted in China the Audi A6 Executive, an ultra luxurious variant of the China-made C5 Audi A6. I found this black example abandoned on a parking lot just to the south of the southern section of the mighty Fifth Ring Road. It was dirty and dusty but absolutely savable.
Volkswagen and the Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC) have signed an agreement to build Audi-branded cars. The shareholders are Shanghai-Volkswagen and Audi, with each holding a 50% stake. The first vehicle will be shown in concept form on the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2017. Production is set to start in early 2018. The joint venture will be called ‘Shanghai-Volkswagen Audi’.
On a recent tuning show I came across an impressive collection of rare Audi rally and road cars. Most of these cars arrived in China with the 2015 Hong Kong to Beijing Rally, and somehow never left. The rally was sponsored by Audi China and by FAW-Volkswagen, the joint venture that makes various Audis and Volkswagens for the Chinese market.
Spectacular Spy Shots showing the all new 2017 Audi A5 Sportback testing in China. The new Sportback will be launched in the fall and hit the market early next year. The car is heavily camouflaged but we can see a new design for the hatch and the rear deck, for the lights, and for the bumper.
An extremely rare and racy pickup truck based on the China-made C6 Audi A6L, Spotted in China on a car market in east Beijing. The vehicle was a bit dusty but otherwise in a good condition. It was formerly owned by a nearby Audi dealer, when this dealer closed due to a nasty bankruptcy the car was sold to a small repair shop and there it stands today.
A very off road-ish Audi A6 Allroad Quattro, Spotted in China in the Wangjing District in Beijing. The good Audi was in super shape, painted in silver with the typical big black bumpers and black wheel arches. It was perfectly maintained and completely original, up until the five-spoke alloys.
